Ice cream man’s story melts hearts

One Chicago ice cream man has received thousands of donations from strangers through a GoFundMe campaign.

What began as a small effort to help out an 89-year-old Chicago man who was spotted pushing a paleta cart and selling the frozen treats to help pay bills has brought in more than $250,000 in just four days.
Joel Cervantes Macias launched an online fundraiser on GoFundMe for “Fidencio the paleta man” Friday with a goal of raising $3,000 and it has reaches $300,000.
It was in an effort to help Fidencio Sanchez, an elderly man forced back to work selling frozen mexican treats, just a few weeks ago after his only daughter passed away.
